2017 RPFSC Skate Swap

Our Annual Skate Swap will take place on Saturday, September 9, from 10:00 am to noon in the change area outside of the rink.

If you wish to place items (skates, dresses, skirts, etc.) for sale in the swap, please read and follow the procedure

  1. Items for sale will be received between 9:00 am and 9:50 am only. There will be a payment envelope available for each item being offered for sale. Fill in the form (name, price of item) and attach the envelope to your item, using the elastic provided.
  1. Please note:  All skates must be approved by the attending coach before being put out for sale to ensure they are in good condition. The coach will review all skates at 9:50 am. Skates that do not meet with the coach’s approval can be retrieved immediately or after the sale by the seller. There is no guarantee skates put into the swap will be offered for sale.
  1. Envelopes for sold items and all unsold items must be picked up between noon and 12:45 pm.  Our club does not have room to store things. Any items not collected in the 45 minutes following the swap will be taken to a consignment store, and proceeds will be paid out to RPFSC. Any items not accepted by the consignment store will be donated to charity.

2017 Summer Skating Begins

Just in time to cool off from the summer weather we are enjoying, our Summer Session begins Monday, July 3 and runs to and includes Monday, August 7.

A reminder that Monday lessons will be held at Hillcrest Arena while Wednesday, Friday and Saturday skating will take place at Sunset Rink.

On July 3, there will also be a Vancouver Canadians Baseball Game starting at Nat Bailey stadium at 7:05 pm. Please ensure you allow extra time to get to the rink as traffic will be heavy and parking around Hillcrest Centre will be significantly limited.

We strongly encourage you to check the Vancouver Canadians Baseball Schedule in advance for any Home Games on Monday evenings

For Canskate Parents, to help make the first few lessons go more smoothly for skaters, parents/caregivers, coaches and program assistants, click here for an overview of what to expect at your skater’s first few lessons.

Update on 2017/18 Skating Season

RPFSC is currently in discussion with the City of Vancouver Parks Board for 2017-18 ice time. Our Club’s goals are to continue offering our programs on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays and to receive additional entitled ice time. Once the City confirms our allocated ice time, we will develop our Fall and Winter Program schedule. We hope to post the schedule by the first week of August and will open on-line registration shortly thereafter. Priority registration will be available to our current members.

National Volunteer Week – April 23 – 29

The RPFSC Board and our members collectively contribute to the various functions of running and managing a successful organization. During this week to honour volunteers across our country, we would like to say THANK YOU to all of our volunteer parents who generously contribute their time all skating season long to the operations and administration of our Club. Without the collective work of our volunteers, we would not be able to offer our skating programs in our community.
