2017 Summer Skating Begins

Just in time to cool off from the summer weather we are enjoying, our Summer Session begins Monday, July 3 and runs to and includes Monday, August 7.

A reminder that Monday lessons will be held at Hillcrest Arena while Wednesday, Friday and Saturday skating will take place at Sunset Rink.

On July 3, there will also be a Vancouver Canadians Baseball Game starting at Nat Bailey stadium at 7:05 pm. Please ensure you allow extra time to get to the rink as traffic will be heavy and parking around Hillcrest Centre will be significantly limited.

We strongly encourage you to check the Vancouver Canadians Baseball Schedule in advance for any Home Games on Monday evenings

For Canskate Parents, to help make the first few lessons go more smoothly for skaters, parents/caregivers, coaches and program assistants, click here for an overview of what to expect at your skater’s first few lessons.

Update on 2017/18 Skating Season

RPFSC is currently in discussion with the City of Vancouver Parks Board for 2017-18 ice time. Our Club’s goals are to continue offering our programs on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays and to receive additional entitled ice time. Once the City confirms our allocated ice time, we will develop our Fall and Winter Program schedule. We hope to post the schedule by the first week of August and will open on-line registration shortly thereafter. Priority registration will be available to our current members.

National Volunteer Week – April 23 – 29

The RPFSC Board and our members collectively contribute to the various functions of running and managing a successful organization. During this week to honour volunteers across our country, we would like to say THANK YOU to all of our volunteer parents who generously contribute their time all skating season long to the operations and administration of our Club. Without the collective work of our volunteers, we would not be able to offer our skating programs in our community.

Star 4 – Kiran Nagin, Thea Trung-Yip, Georgia Tsang
Star 5 –  Renee Kim, Cindy Ly, Christine Tran

Congratulations on  your hard work and have fun at Camp!

Carnival Commitment Forms due April 30

The RPFSC Board of Directors has made a commitment to producing its Bi-Annual Carnival for Saturday March 24, 2018

The Carnival is an opportunity for our skaters to dress up, learn group choreography and experience performing in a fun atmosphere. Some of you may recall our last Carnival Production, the Beatles-themed, “Magical Mystery Tour” in March 2016.

While the event is still a year away, planning begins now. Before the Board proceeds with the next steps in planning, we want to ensure that we have enough skaters committed to participate in our Carnival which is during Spring Break next year. Therefore, we are providing you with as much notice as possible for you to consider and plan for your skater’s commitment to participate in Carnival during Spring Break next year.

Download and review the Participation Commitment Form which outlines more specific requirements for skaters who will participate in our Carnival. If you haven’t already, please complete the bottom portion of the form and return it to us by April 30, 2017.

Feel free to email us at [email protected]
