Program Minimum Requirements and Session Fees

Below, we have listed our Summer Program Minimum Requirements and Session Fees for:

 

Additional Fees 
The following fees will also be automatically added to each individual registration:

    • $35 Skate Canada Membership and Safe Sport Fee payable once to Skate Canada (valid from September 1, 2016 to August 31, 2017)
    • $10 RPFSC Administration Fee payable once to RPFSC (valid from September 1, 2016 to August 31, 2017)

Program Pricing and Discounts 
As you register, you will see a unit cost displayed per program session. Appropriate discounts will be applied to reflect the listed program package prices when you complete your registration and check out.

 

Canskate Minimum Requirements and Session Fees 

This Summer, we will offer Canskate lessons 3 times during the week. Skaters must be at least 3 years of age and must be able to participate independently.

Canskaters are required to have their own skates and their own CSA-approved hockey helmet as rentals of ice skates and helmets are NOT available from Hillcrest Arena or Sunset Arena during Riley Park Canskate Lessons.

Skaters are also required to wear mittens or gloves for warmth and protection and recommended to dress warmly and wear long pants and a sweater and/or jacket.

Registration fees include both ice time and coaching.

  • Registration fees for one day a week – $66 for 6 weeks/$55 for 5 weeks
  • Register for 2 days – receive a 10% discount
  • Register for 3 days – receive a 15% discount

 

StarSkate 1 Minimum Program Requirements and Session Fees

Skaters are eligible to register for StarSkate 1 upon the recommendation and approval of our Head Coach. The registration fees include both ice time and coaching.

  • Registration fees for one day a week – $60 for 5 weeks
  • Register for 2 days – receive a 10% discount
  • Register for 3 days – receive a 15% discount

 

StarSkate 2 Minimum Program Requirements and Session Fees

Skaters are eligible to register for StarSkate 2 upon the recommendation and approval of our Head Coach. The registration fees include both ice time and coaching.

  • Registration fees for one day a week – $60 for 5 weeks
  • Register for 2 days – receive a 10% discount
  • Register for 3 days – receive a 15% discount

 

Ice Only Skaters (Junior, Intermediate and Senior) Minimum Requirements

While we have general criteria to differentiate between our three levels based on each skater’s free skate/jumping ability and level of skating skills, session levels are assigned at the Coach’s discretion.

All Ice Only Skaters are encouraged to register for at least:

  • One Freeskate session
  • One Dance and Skills session
  • Friday Enrichment session

Pricing for Open, Freeskate and Dance & Skills sessions 

The registration fees cover ice time only with the exception of Friday Enrichment which includes coaching fees. Otherwise, coaching fees for lessons are billed separately on a monthly basis.

  • 45 minute session – $35 for 5 weeks
  • 60 minute sessions – $45 for 5 weeks; $50 for 6 weeks
  • 60 Enrichment session – $60 for 5 weeks
