ELECTION OF OFFICERS AND CALL FOR NOMINATIONS FOR RPFSC BOARD OF DIRECTORS

The parent-volunteer system is a cornerstone of RPFSC. As a non-profit organization, our operations, with the exception of Professional Coaches and a part time Registrar, are carried out by volunteers, including our Board of Directors.

Our Board of Directors come from varied backgrounds and bring their unique talents and community building skills to ensure a positive skating and volunteering experience for our skaters and their families.

Election of Officers

At this year’s AGM, we will be electing/re-electing five (5) Board of Director positions for two year terms. They are:

  • President
  • Vice President
  • Three (3) Members-at-Large

Why Join the Board?

This is a great opportunity to get involved with the club, meet other members, learn about the club’s operations and share your set of skills and expertise with our community of skaters and their families. It can be a very rewarding experience.

We encourage our members to consider running for the Board, especially parents with skaters in our PreStar, Star 1, 2 and 3 programs as our Board of Directors lacks representation from this group of skaters.

Time Commitment

Board members volunteer an average of 4 to 6 hours a month (which includes a monthly business meeting) and work on a broad range of tasks such as event planning, volunteer coordination, promotions, website and communications and other areas as time and interest permits.

Nominations

Nominations for the above listed Board Officers are now open. You are able to nominate a club member for election or re-election by emailing your nominations to info@rpfsc.ca prior to the AGM. We will also take nominations from the floor during the AGM.
